Issue Position: Limit The Fed

Issues: Monetary Policy

December 23 in 1913, the Federal Reserve Act established the Fed as America's central (private) bank. The Fed is not a bank owned by the US government yet it essentially creates money out of thin air, manipulates interest rates, and interferes with the free market system. By doing so the Fed pumps fiat currency into our economy and devalues the dollar. The Federal Reserve is independent within our government in that "its monetary policy decisions do not have to be approved by the President or anyone else in the executive or legislative branches of government. The Fed is essentially a private banking cartel that is secretive while setting monetary policy that affects every American. We need serious audit legislation that allows us to audit all activity at the Fed. We need the Fed to be controlled by the United States Government, or be eliminated entirely.
